7 juin Julia's Two Month Stats and Other NewsAlthough we can't believe she's already been here two months, it would appear that she has! She had her check up Monday, and is still the chub monster we've all come to know and love. 11 pounds, 15 oz and 23.5 inches long -- in the 80th percentile for both! She had lots of smiles for the doctor, and even showed off her cute little coos and gurgles. Julia is a happy, healthy little girl, and like all babies really hated the shots. Standard check up for us! Julia started school last Tuesday, and is mostly doing well. She is not the biggest fan of her bottle, and as a result doesn't eat as much during the day as she does when she's home. Since she's a big girl, she can handle it, but she is compensating by picking up a middle of the night feeding again. It is taking some getting used to, since before school she had been sleeping through the night. Ah well. By the end of this week she has been taking more, which is good. Hopefully she'll keep getting better, and luckily it will be only a couple more months before she starts solids, which will also help. Otherwise, she does well at school and her teachers love her. And I've done well with her being at school. It helps that I absolutely love this center and the staff there! Now that we're being more intentional about spending more quality one-on-one time with Amelia, she is starting to calm down a little. Just a little, though -- she's still pretty crazy energetic! Her new thing is taking off, and then trying to put back on, all her clothes. She spends a lot of time stripped down to her diaper, and we frequently find her disrobed when we go in to check on her at night. At least she hasn't pulled off her own diaper, yet. Speaking of which, we are looking to start working on the potty training in the next couple of weeks. She will sit on her little potty, but so far no interest in doing anything there. I'm not too worried about it yet since they don't do potty training at school until she moves up to the next class. I would imagine they'll be doing that soon since she is such a handful in the toddler room these days. Clara is looking forward to starting swim lessons in school on Monday -- it is all she talks about! She is trying really hard to be big -- helping out with both her sisters and trying to be Amelia's keeper much of the time. Her big news is kissing boys at school. Her daddy is very disturbed, and her teachers find it hilarious! I think it's cute, but I guess we need to work with her on it so as not to pass lots of germs around! :) Steve passed his first licensing test and is working on prepping for the second one. Hopefully he'll be finished up by the end of June and we will enjoy the fruits of his labor in the form of a nice raise. And with daycare costs up significantly now that Julia is there, too, we can use the money! I'm doing my thing again at work, enjoying the relatively peaceful summer routine and getting ready for fall move-in already. The summer will go fast, I'm sure. We're also making plans and getting ready for our move next weekend -- to a four bedroom apartment, yay! Luckily it is the next building over, so it should be pretty easy as moves go. I am fortunate to have family in town to help with both moving and watching my girls, which is really a huge help! That's pretty much what's new with us. I'll go through the excruciatingly long process that uploading pictures from my very slow computer has become so you can see how big Miss Julia has grown!
